Math Honor Cord Policy

Honor cords are awarded to the graduating students. There are many sections of this award, Math is one of them. The most popular color of the math honor cords is lavender. Math honor cords may be different colors with respect to university taste. It may include red, hunter green, light blue, bronze, orange, silver, maroon, and white, purple, navy blue, off white, royal blue etc. The length of the honor cords is same as like other honors cords. As ideal honor cords this honor cords is also about sixty inches long. It consists of two separate honor cords tied together, but there is a knot at the middle of the cords. There is a tassel at the end of the cords. Each cords without tassel is near thirty inches long. The tassel is about four inches long.

However Math honor cords are awarded to the graduating seniors. Seniors have to complete the high school mathematics course. The course duration should be four years. These mathematics lessons also many parts. One can study in Algebra1 or geometry. He/she also can study in Advance Algebra, Pre-Calculus and/or Calculus in order to get award of math honor cords. The main condition is that the candidate has to get GPA 3.3. The higher GPA than3.3 is granted but lower GPA than 3.3 is not granted. In respect of GPA calculation the qualified courses are considered and taken at the high school current year. Past taken course will be incorporated in the estimate of the GPA in spite of where you come into the succession. Except the above given classes, the other classes taken during the four years course is not included in this GPA calculation. But for the pre-calculus or calculus this policy is different. If a superior is at present enrolled in Calculus, or Pre-Calculus the mark earned in that group of class as of the collection year will be worn in the calculation of the 3.3 GPA.

Among all the policy there one of the most important policies is that a student is not qualified for an honor cords if any course during the succession were completed no credit basis or on a credit basis. However calculating GPA is the most important policy in math honor cords. During calculation of GPA no rounding is done. An example is that a student having a GPA 3.29 is not qualified for honor. So in order to get math honor cords as an award one has to fulfill the above narrated conditions.
