Let’s Keep the Date
When my husband and I were first seeing each other, I was hesitant in telling my parents about him. Not because he was awful, but because my parents only have like one of my boyfriends or husband – and that was my high school boyfriend. I thought if I told them he was “just” a friend, they might get to know him and like him as much as I did. So when Thanksgiving came around and I knew he would be celebrating it alone, I asked him for a date for Thanksgiving and invited him to my parents home, after asking them if it was alright before hand of course. My father liked him, and my mother and sister fell in love with him. Then I had to endure the comments about when was I going to do something about the “keeper” and make him into their son-in-law.
I am so grateful I have an organizer, and that I use it for more than a to do list holder! My husband used to laugh about my carrying the organizer everywhere with me, butone day called me at work to ask me if I could look at my b”rain” and tell me the date of Thanksgiving. Now he regularly asks me to look at my “brain” to check our plans or to se if I have certain information such as the cabinet measurements, or the name of the company we used to build our built-in china cabinet. Luckily, I usually have the information, which makes our lives much easier!
